A lot happens in the world of the Global Children’s Forum (GCF) community in one month. The lively GCF Whatsapp group is always brimming with news and photos of what is happening to see children everywhere walking with Jesus (CEWWJ). Here is a taste from just the last two months.

Nosa in Nigeria ran the CEWWJ challenge and Big Story Training with teachers of a large denomination in Jos, Nigeria over four days. Nosa came up with a new word ‘scarcited’ – as their team were “both excited and scared at the opportunities that are opening up.”

In Kenya, Deb from the UK who travels widely ministering to church leaders, families and children was there to speak at the Pan African Congress on Autism sharing the gospel perspective of how to interact with the less abled. She then ministered at Church leadership conferences with a small team on the biblical perspective of disabilities and she saw “hearts and minds of the abled bodied healed” particularly in their attitude towards inclusion of all abilities.

Keen to connect with new GCF friends, Deb travelled the 14 hour bus ride to Kampala, Uganda spending time with Edwin and the Children Reachout kids he mentors. She met up with Richard Ssekyeru and was also warmly welcomed by GCF buddy Richard and introduced to Robert Katende and the SOM Chess Academy team in Katwe, sharing Jesus with a group of young people involved in the chess programs.

Carissa in ME from Weavefamily.org was invited by Pearl in India to share on a Lausanne Children & Evangelism global zoom call about Weave family’s new free resource, connecting families to the global story of God – God’s big story. Equipping children and families to understand God’s purposes and embrace their role in His story.

In South America, Andres in Uruguay spoke at the national leadership of the Uruguayan church about ministry among their children and youth. Jorge in Chile encouraged pastors and leaders of children to carry out their ministry with responsibility and commitment and ran training to continue evangelizing and discipling Chilean children. Jorge also joined Marcos in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Children and Family Summit holding workshops and plenaries to challenge and train more than 300 leaders and pastors, for the task for children and families.

In Mexico, Alberto celebrated Teacher’s Day in a special way with leaders from different communities and he said, “we reflect on the vision of GCF and 1for50…(our) commitment to learn how to guide children to effective discipleship was clear. To God be the glory!”

Andrea in Brazil ran a weekend long Child Safe Training (World Vision course) for churches in Brazil about writing their own child Protection policies. She was the trainer of trainers. Pablo, 2018 Leadership Experience (LE) participant was hoping to be there as he and Andrea had connected since meeting through GCF but was unable to make it. Read more about how GCF brought their ministry work together in other news story titled Brazil is a Big Country.

This is what GCF is all about – connecting children’s ministries and leaders around the world to partner together so we can share resources and ideas and encourage one another to keep going! To see children everywhere walking with Jesus.
